Natural Temptation Café was born from the belief of an old saying, “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food. To live by these wise words, we need to be feeding ourselves with the best quality medicine we can find. Fresh and living real food.
It has only been during the 20th century that a large supply of new synthetic chemicals was introduced to food production. This was seen as progress back in the 1950’s as farming methods modernized and crop yield could be increased. Farmers were almost forced to change to stay competitive in the marketplace. However, this progress has been to the detriment of our long-term soil health and our own health as food allergies and intolerances have increased. Also genetically modified seeds have been developed to increase production of crops, but we have yet to see the full impact of what science tinkering with nature will do to our seed stocks and how our bodies adapt to these changes.

Organic foods
Organic foods, by definition, are foods that are produced using methods that don’t involve synthetic pesticide and chemical fertilizers. These foods should not be processed using irradiation, industrial solvents or chemical food additives.
Bio-dynamic farming
Bio-dynamic farming is like Organic farm practice except it follows a more holistic approach considering the relationship between soil, farm animals and all areas of a farm’s operations. Twenty years ago, these methods were thought to be “weird alternative stuff” only used by lentil eating hippies! Lucky for us all, the benefits are now being seen from this style of agriculture and many of the methods are now being promoted and used by mainstream farmers and small boutique style food and animal producers. The benefits of good soil health are being embraced as intelligent and practical farming.
Good quality products create more wholesome choices
Producers also see that customers are prepared to source good quality products so there are more wholesome choices available to us in today’s marketplace. Beware though of “healthy and natural” style marketing. Read the fine print and make sure your “natural breakfast cereal” isn’t more processed than the cardboard box that it is sold in.
Seasonal and locally grown fruits and vegetables
A good place to start when you are seeking nutritious foods is to eat seasonally and locally grown fruits and vegetables. Also, if you enjoy meat, support local meat suppliers that sell grass finished meat, as these meats have less marbles of polyunsaturated fat. Buy organic or bio-dynamic when you can and better still, grow some greens at home to supplement your cooking and get your hands into the dirt.
For fresh organic vegetable, many growers sell their produce at the local markets. Check out the Boyanup markets, Dunsborough and Margaret River markets. Most of these are held once a month.
Progressive cafes have freshly made wholesome food choices which suit dietary requirements
Many progressive cafes now have freshly made wholesome food choices which suit dietary requirements. Best cafes support smaller local farmers where production methods are more accountable. All sorts of non- dairy milks are now available such as almond milk, soy milk and now oat milk so most types of food intolerances can be catered for.
