Natural Temptations Cafe - About Us
Natural Temptation was born in 1989 when two enthusiastic young hippy girls, Annie & Katrina decided to move their small café from Good Earth Health & Surf Shop into the newly built Centrepoint Shopping Centre in Bunbury. The Naturally Good Surf shop café became The Natural Temptation of Centrepoint.
In 2011, the café relocated to the present location at 47 Stephen St Bunbury, just across the road from the shopping centre.
Annie Malone has run Natural Temptation Café since 1991. As a young 18-year-old, Annie travelled to Southern India to study Yoga and was influenced by the vegetarian foods she discovered on her travels.
The café’s culinary roots come from creative vegetarian cooking with the firm belief that our health lies in the foods we choose to eat. Over the past 30 years, our menu has evolved and now includes free range chicken and preservative free bacon. The emphasis for us is that food should be fresh and free from additives, preservatives and prepared in a time- honoured way. Making great tasting food excites us and we make all our dishes in our kitchen using all our own sauces and seasonings so we know exactly what each dish contains.
Fresh is Best
We love making our fresh muffins & cakes every day and enjoy adapting many of our best recipes to suit gluten free and vegan dietary choices. The results are taste delights for all. Our Vege Earth Burger topped with our Awesome sauce is one of our long-standing dishes that is a favourite for many along with our Spinach filo pastries and Vegetable Lasagne.
All these recipes can be found in our two cookbooks that we have published and available in the café.
Our other great love is to inspire sustainability in our daily work practices. We love our planet and want to do our bit in keeping it green and beautiful. Paper straw and bags are the go for us and we don’t mind if you bring your own re-usable containers to us for your takeaways. We compost all our food waste at the café in The Closed Loop Organic system which reduces our approx. 100kg of weekly food waste down to 10 kg of composted material that can be returned to gardens.
We dig it so you can too!
This compost is available at the café for $2 per bag with monies going to the Royal Flying Doctor Service because these guys rock.
